Please help me comparing Tapo solar camera models
Hi everyone! 👋
I’ve spent a lot of time trying to compare the Tapo solar-powered camera models — especially C410, C420, C425, C460, c610, c630 (and i only discover these solar panel modells but tell me if there are more) — but I still can’t figure out all the important differences between them. I’d really appreciate some expert help from the community to understand these models better. I’m planning to buy one soon, so I’d like to choose wisely.
Here are some questions I’d love your help with:
1. What are the main differences between the liste cameras above (solar versions)?
2. Do all of these models support local storage (microSD)?
3. How do they compare in terms of video quality (day/night), field of view, and motion detection accuracy?
4. Are there any differences in connectivity — for example, which cameras require a hub and which ones can work without it?
5. Do they all support smart features like person detection, vehicle detection, or color night vision?
6. Are there any known pros and cons for each model (e.g. reliability, battery life, firmware updates, solar charging efficiency)?
7. Can any of these cameras record 24/7, continuously, instead of motion-based recording only?
8. Is the Tapo TC85 the same model as the C425, or just a regional naming difference?
If anyone has hands-on experience with multiple models or has done a comparison themselves, your insights would be super helpful! 🙏
Thanks in advance for helping me (and probably many others) get a clear overview of these solar Tapo cameras.
