Hi all,

I have the D235 doorbell hardwired. Initially the battery was charging immediately to 100% and then started to drain. The App showed it is hardwired and everything is fine. When switching to Always-On mode and back to not Always-On mode it starts to charge again to 100%. After it charged to 100% it drains again to < 8% at the moment.

It seems not to be a hardware / wiring issue but somewho related to the firmware. I always have to switch to the Always-On mode and back to initate charging again.

Is this expected behviour? Would it drain to 0% and still continue working or will it turn off? Does anybody else have the same issue? Is there a workround or a fix available?

Thanks for any hint.

Hi @RamonF

From what I understand, to preserve battery longevity, the battery will discharge to around 80% and will usually stay there unless you view it constantly.

My one is always at 81%. It's hardwired and is in Always On mode. It has dropped to something like 78% before as I was watching live for an extended period of time, but then it charged back up to 81%. It never goes over 81%.

So nothing to worry about.

@DaveyPeanuts thank you for your feedback. My plan was to have the always-on mode turned off. But then the battery level goes down to less than 10%. I temporarily turned on the always-on mode again to trigger charging.

I would not be worried with staying at 80%.
