Flashing alarm light -intermitent light- we think distort recorded videos. We prefer non intermitent ligh for taking a clean video sequence, or possibility to choose between flashing or constant  light. We think this feature will be easy to add in a firmware update.

Hi,
Generally, when a Tapo camera's Alarm feature is enabled and the Alarm Type is set to 'Sound & Light' or 'Light', the camera will flash its spotlight three times when an event is detected.

Does the spotlight's flash prevent the camera from recording detection video clips that display the detected event? If so, could you provide a detection video clip showing the reported phenomenon for further analysis?

You can upload the video to your cloud server (such as Google Drive), generate a download link, and send it to me (@Solla-topee) via a private message.

Best Regards

We say is evident that flashing light while recording change illumination conditions.

We do not have to record any video because the flash effect is recorded, and we want a CLEAR RECORD, not a changing light recording

This is a security cam, and record has to be as clear as possible, with constant light, not flashing, or, at least, possibility to choose a constant light

OK we think this is a basic question. A security camera has to record image as clean as possible. Introducing flashing in the image distorts the reality, and convert the device in a toy over a security product.

We think real security camera is not for scare the thieves, Is for recording clean images.

We have many TC82 installed where wired cams are unable to be installed, and have alarm light DISABLED, because flashing create distorted videos

And It is a pity because white light provided by the cam is very good... But not flashing

We think you will add in future firmware upgrade the option to cancel flash light and use constant light, and you product will be a real security cam instead of a toy.
