Ghost image of house
I am having to remap the house at least once per week as the machine constantly gets a ghost image of the house and then the vac cannot do its job. I can't use the backup map as the ghost image gets saved over it so it is useless.
please could this issue be rectified or I would like a full refund. This machine is not even a year old and has caused far to much frustration.
at this stage I have lost all confidence in the machine.

Robot vacuums use radar sensors to scan and map their surroundings. However, surfaces with reflective or transparent properties (like glass, acrylic panels, mirrors, etc) can interfere with the radar signals, causing the device to map phantom areas that don’t physically exist.
If there are such objects or elements in your environment, position reflective objects at least 30 cm above ground level. If the objects cannot be relocated, cover the lower 30 cm portion of the surface with non-reflective material (e.g., fabric, cardboard).
Once the correct map is created, you can save it as a backup.

@Wayne-TP Hi Wayne. Each time this has happened it has been in a carpeted area, so no reflective surfaces.
secondly, the backup map is getting overwritten with the ghost image each time.

Did the vacuum get stuck on the carpet? The updated map you see should be the current map, not the backup map. During cleaning, the robot vacuum continuously updates its current map based on wheel movement data. If the vacuum temporarily gets stuck and the wheels spin without actually moving, these rotations will still be logged as movement inputs, which may lead to map discrepancies.
If you're not in this case, please share comparison screenshots of the backup map page before and after cleaning.
