Solution Optimizing HDMI Output for Tapo H500: Better Screen Mirroring for Tapo AC-Powered Cameras/Doorbells
This Article Applies To
Tapo H500
Description
When an AC-powered Tapo camera or doorbell is connected to the Tapo H500, there is a Screen Mirror feature that allows users to cast the camera live stream to a bigger screen device (e.g. TV) via an HDMI cable.
While watching the camera’s live feed via HDMI screen mirroring, you might occasionally notice some buffering, slight delays, or even interruptions. If you do experience similar abnormalities on your devices, the firmware provided in this article could help. Keep looking to learn about how to apply for the firmware!
Before you proceed, be aware that HDMI output behavior depends on the recording configuration. If your camera is set to record detection videos only, it is normal to receive the 'Live Stream Paused' prompt when no events are detected.
1. Event-Based Recording: The live feed will only display when the camera detects motion or events.
2. Continuous Recording: Allows uninterrupted live streaming via Screen Mirroring
Solution
We have released a new firmware for Tapo H500 (version 1.3.12 Build 20260128 rel.51424) that brings optimizations for the screen mirroring feature.

Vielen Dank.
Unfortunately, the new firmware optimization hasn't fixed the problem. Ghosting is still visible in all images in quad view. Streaks trail behind moving objects, making the image appear blurry in these areas. Furthermore, the display isn't real-time. Regrettably, this setup isn't really suitable for monitoring on an HDMI monitor. All cameras are connected via Cat.5/6 LAN cables (no Wi-Fi). I would appreciate any further assistance. Thank you.

Good morning,
I have looked through both threads on this forum as I am also having this issue. All my cameras are set to Continuous Recording. I have 2 D130s on the latest firmware of 1.1.12 build 250806 rel. 40262, and I have a C560WS running firmware 1.1 build 251127 rel. 70983n. My hub is running firmware 1.3.9 Build 20251218 rel. 62866.
Would it be possible to get the beta firmware sent to my device please?
