Storage options when using Tapo camera with Tapo H500 HomeBase
Hi,
I'm wondering which storage options are available in parallel when using Tapo H500 HomeBase with Tapo cameras with build in SD card. Can I still use the local SD cards in the cameras when saving on the homebase and load up to the cloud? So which of the following combinations work?
- Homebase only
- Camera and Homebase
- Homebase and Cloud
- Camera, Homebase and cloud
Anyone can shed light on this?
Regards

Camera recordings are stored exclusively to one local destination, either a microSD card or the hub. (H200/H500). If the hub is set as the storage location but a microSD card is inserted in the camera, the camera automatically fails over to the SD card if the hub connection drops. Once the camera reconnects to the hub, the storage path will automatically revert to the hub.
Cameras support cloud uploads (Tapo Care) regardless of local storage choice, whether using an SD card or hub.

Tapo C460 does not have built-in storage. To my knowledge, no current camera models come with built-in storage.
