Over ride Tapo D210 clip settings
Over ride Tapo D210 clip settings
Hi
Is there anyway to over ride the record clip settings on this camera? I've kinda had enough of the 15-17 seconds of clips when i've got people outside my house and need to keep a eye on them, i feed birds also and if a cat comes i can't even get out in time due to the lag and the clip is so short.
No point in auto settings on clips that should be 120 not 15-17 second.

Go to doorbell Device Settings page, click Storage & Recording, then choose Clip Settings. Here, you can customize the doorbell's retrigger time, record buffer, and maximum clip length.

When wired it locks in its auto setting, there is no way to unlock so you can get the settings you want which i think is stupid, There clearly is a flaw in this design, while people are outside and moving yet it only does 15-17 seconds clip is beyond stupid.

It says in the manual that it turns on when wired so it can pick up easier, sadly its a lie as i had a guy taking photo's outside my house, it took 5 seconds of at least 38 seconds of the person being outside my house, not even good enough for police as evidence.
It was it has to stay as always on so the IR can record right away.

When Always‑On mode is disabled, the doorbell begins detection and recording only after the PIR sensor wakes up the camera. For more responsive detection, you will need to hardwire the doorbell and enable Always‑On mode. In this configuration, the doorbell continuously monitors motion within its field of view without requiring a wake‑up step.
About the Clip Settings feature, it cannot be edited under two circumstances, you may check if that's your case:
1. When the doorbell enables the Always-On mode: in this working mode, the clip settings will be set to the maximum level automatically.
2. When the doorbell is a shared device: the invitee account has limited access to product features.

Its hardwired as i stated in my post.
Its on always on due to how bad the pickup is on these useless cameras.
I asked for a override pretty much as its not recording the full clip and is only doing small clips, this camera will be useless than it already is if anything happened to my house as it does not record the 120 seconds its meant to be doing, upto 17 seconds while people are outside my house in full view of the camera is very bad, This needs addressing big time including more staff to reply on this site.

Do you have a microSD card inserted in the doorbell, or are videos set to save to a Tapo hub, such as the H200 or H500? If you currently have Always‑On mode enabled, you can set the recording plan to 24/7 continuous recording, so you won’t miss any activity.

Hardwired
Silly auto to the point its not fully recording movement, only upto 17 seconds, 18 if lucky, this is not the max of 120 as it should be.
Yes SD card like a normal person uses.
Always on as its the only way this stupid camera picks anything up.
Its auto so its set to record 24/7
Is there actually a way to remove this silly short time on recording as its false advertisement as it don't record anything 1.2 of that time.
