Tapo C260 vertical tilt limits
Dear Tapo Support Team,
I am writing to provide feedback and a formal feature request regarding the vertical tilt range of the Tapo C260.
I have observed that during the camera's initial startup calibration, the gimbal rotates the lens fully until it is hidden within the housing.
This confirms that the hardware is physically capable of a very wide vertical field of view.
However, once the camera is operational, the Tapo App restricts the downward /vertical tilt to a much narrower angle. Both downwords and upwords.
This creates a significant issue:
• The Problem: When the camera is placed on a high shelf or surface, it is impossible to monitor the area directly below or near the camera’s base.
• The Request: Please consider a firmware update that allows users to utilize the full physical tilt range of the motor.
• Regarding Obstruction: I am aware that extreme angles may result in the camera's own plastic housing appearing in the edge of the frame.
However, even if the housing occupies ~25% of the view, the remaining 75% provides critical security coverage that is currently being blocked by software limits and otherwise would be placed in the center of the image.
Providing users with a "Wide Tilt Mode" or simply unlocking the existing mechanical range would significantly improve the utility of this camera for shelf-mounted installations.
I look forward to hearing if this can be addressed in a future firmware release.
