Tapo C225 V2 red light while recording
Hello, I have had a C225 V2 camera for a year and it has worked fine, however, yesterday the light started turning red while recording as well as when someone is connected. We find this new behaviour infuriating for a few reasons.
The previous way allowed us to know when another family member was connected to the camera, and allowed us to easily detect if there was an intrusion.
Now the camera's light is continuosly turning between red and blue, which is extremely annoying.
I am now aware that the user guide says it is intended to work this way, but please revert the fix or implement a way to display the solid red light only when live streaming and not while recording, we loved the camera but this new behaviour is turning us mad.

Hi All,
Thanks for your feedback. Regarding the phenomenon you mentioned where the camera's LED turns solid red during detection recording, please rest assured that this is normal and conforms to the LED status description in the UG. When starting up, video recording, or live streaming, the LED will turn solid red.
However, I understand the use case that you want the camera LED status or color to differ between live streaming and video recording to distinguish between the two states. While we don't have specific details on whether this feature can be added to the product or when it might be, I'll log the feature request and pass it along to the relevant team for evaluation.
I moved this conversation into the 'Feature Request (Tapo)' area for better visibility. If other users have the same request, please vote on this thread or leave your comments.
Best Regards

Hi,
As per the Tapo C225's UG, the camera is working as it should now. However, I understand the usage scenario you described. I'll log the feature request to improve the meaning of the camera's LED status and forward it to the relevant team for evaluation.
Best Regards
Sorry bro.. the earlier implementation was correct and the current one is flawed. Previously, the red light indicated an active live view, while the blue light indicated recording only.
This logic was simple, intuitive, and especially important during two-way conversations. Once the red light turned off, the person on this side clearly understood that the conversation had ended.
With the red light now remaining continuously on, users may continue speaking under the assumption that someone is listening, even when there is no response from the other side. This creates confusion and degrades the user experience.
This needs to be corrected.
