Model: Tapo D210
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I had to change my router recently so my wifi network name and password changed. I tried to set my old network name and password on the new router, but the old password I had isn't secure enough according to the new router and I don't think I can get around that.

I have theft protection on the doorbell set to on and I am not able to connect to the doorbell due to the above to disable it.

As I understand, I need to take off the doorbell and reset it to be able to connect it to the new wifi network, but this will trigger the theft protection.

Can you please explain how I can reset the doorbell if the theft protection is on?

Thanks

Try creating a hotspot on your phone with your previous router settings. Just make sure that hotspot is 2.4g frequency. Worked for me multiple times.

You can follow this guide to pause the anti-theft alarm. How to pause/stop the Anti-theft Alarm of your Tapo Doorbell

Or like @Abuzeer  said, create a temporary network using the old network name and password, the doorbell should be able connect to the old network automatically, then you can disable the anti-theft alarm in the app.
