H200 Cannot connect to wifi after firmware update.
Yesterday one of my Tapo H200 hubs received new firmware version 1.61. It cannot connect to wifi in a correct way since that update. I already factory reset the hub and reconfigured it using an ethernet cable.
Symptoms:
- Cannot configure hub over wifi after reset. App sais this firmware version does not support wireless configuration. Also Hub does not show up as wifi access point
- Hub can be added using ethernet cable connected to router
- When connected with ethernet cable, I can connect to wifi
- When I remove ethernet cable, led flashes and goed back to green. Connection to wifi works
- When I disconnect power and reconnect power, hub does not connect to wifi. Led stays orange.
I cannot move the hub back to its original position in the garage where not ethernet is available. It refuses to connect after disconnected from power.
My other hub is on firmware 1.6.0 and still has connection.

Your hub is still connected to the router, the amber led means it is disconnected from the cloud -- remote control failure. For your case, please check the suggestions here -- Case 2. Cannot use the Tapo app to control my smart devices
To better understand the issue, could you clarify the exact behavior of your device under the following conditions?
- If the hub stays in place but unplugs the Ethernet cable, then restarts, does the LED turn orange? Will it turn green eventually after waiting for a while?
- Can it recover after another restart, or is it necessary to go through the full setup process again?

Hi Thanks for the response. I cannot control the HUB from the local network. If I want to view the wifi settings I get a pop-up saying the network is unstable. However the hub is next to the router. Also it does not show any wifi accespoints in the list and also does not show the name of the configured access point.
I did the following while the hub was orange.
- plug back in the ethernet cable -> LED turns green. App shows connected to ethernet. When I click the network it also shows the configured wifi network
- remove ethernet cable -> LED shortly blinks red and then turns green. App reports wireless connection. Shows good signal and the name of the access point. I can use the app to let the bell ring
- disconnect power and reconnect -> LEE turns red, than red/green and then orange. Problem is back as described above. LED stays orange. Cannot use the hub over wifi.
I takes very long to open the settings page.
This unit has been a bit hard to configure from the start (see my post from over a year ago).
But this problem occured right after the automatic firmware update of January the 28th.
Edit. HW Version is version 1.0

Update. It seems the hub is connected to the router. i can see it in the list of connected devices. If I disconnect the HUB from power it also disappears from the device list on the router. The hub has mac adress binding on the router, so it will always receive the same IP adress.

Hello, did support answer your WiFi connection issues after a power down of the hub?
I have the same issue. Will not reconnect to WiFi without reconnecting RJ 45 hub cable to router. Just a orange led on hub. Thanks.

Does your H200 remain solid green when only the Ethernet cable is unplugged (while power is still connected)?

@NCMcC : Do you happen to have an Asus router? I have an RT-AC88U. This router also sometimes has connection problems with wifi printers. I thought maybe the firmware upgrade triggered some compatibility issues. I can see from the release notes that the firmware upgrade does contain some wifi related updates.
