Can I use 2.5G port as LAN for EasyMesh ethernet backhaul while using 10G as WAN on BE450?
Hi,
I have a 3-floor setup with 10 users, all connected via WiFi. Here's my current configuration:
Current Setup:
- 10G fiber → BE450 (3F, main router) → 1Gbps LAN port → AX80V (4F, satellite) → wireless backhaul → AX3000 (5F, satellite)
- All devices running EasyMesh with same SSID
- BE450 using 10G port as WAN for internet
The Problem: I'm told that to use ethernet backhaul between BE450 and AX80V, I must connect their LAN ports (not WAN). This limits the backhaul to 1Gbps, creating a bottleneck for 4F and 5F users.
My Question: Since BE450 has both 10G WAN/LAN and 2.5G WAN/LAN ports, and I'm using the 10G port for internet (WAN), can I configure the 2.5G port to work as LAN for ethernet backhaul to AX80V's 2.5G WAN port?
Some say 2.5G port cann NOT be used as LAN in Mesh mode, but some say it CAN be used.
Desired Configuration:
- Internet: 10G fiber connected to BE450's 10G WAN port
- Backhaul: BE450's 2.5G LAN port → (ethernet cable) → AX80V's 2.5G WAN port
- Result: 2.5Gbps ethernet backhaul for EasyMesh
Additional Info:
- BE450 specs say "2.5G WAN/LAN" (not WAN-only)
- AX80V has a 2.5G WAN/LAN port
Is this configuration possible with current firmware? If not, are there any workarounds or planned updates?
Thanks!
