Would prefer a Version 1 instead of v.2, would be nice if they were more easily identifiable
Sadly, the new version of the C325WB (v.2) was NOT given a different model number so those of us whom enjoy watching the stars, moon, meteorite, Auroras and fireballs (which are far clearer on the v.1) have no idea which version we might get when ordering online as many suppliers do not differentiate the versions and have no means of contacting to confirm or guarantee we will receive the v.1 at time of order.
It would be wonderful if Tapo might go back to manufacturing the v.1 again and perhaps give it a different product number so we can purchase abd receive what we actually want.

The latest firmware (1.2.5 Build 260112) for the Tapo C325WB V2 is being released gradually. This firmware version supports "Light Off Mode", which enables full-color image capture with ColorPro Night Vision while keeping spotlights turned off. Similar to the Tapo C325WB V1, using "Light Off Mode" should improve your experience when watching stars, the moon, meteors, auroras, and fireballs.
You can update to the new firmware if your camera receives it. If your camera has not yet received the new firmware, please wait patiently.

To my understanding, the sensor on the Version 1 is superior to thr version 2, so I still feel the to versions should have different model numbers.

Different hardware versions of the same model may have slight differences in hardware and functionality, but their overall performance and design are basically the same. @Solla-topee I agree that the v2 C325WB should really have a different model number as it is in fact quite a different camera to the v1. It has a smaller image sensor and does not perform as well as the v1. The v2 has infrared lamps but the v1 does not. I think the v2 has PoE but the v1 does not. Unfortunately many retailers are selling the v2 cameras but are showing the specs for the v1 cameras. A different model number would avoid any confusion.
There is a growing community of sky-watchers using Tapo cameras, especially the Tapo C325WB v1, for capturing fireball meteors and auroras. The v1 camera worked very well for this purpose but the v2, even with the latest firmware update, does not work as well as the v1 for this purpose. There is a great opportunity for Tapo to cater to a niche market here. Whenever people see our spectacular fireball or aurora videos, they want to know which camera was used.
