Model: Tapo D130
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.12

Tapo D130 Doorbell, paired to H200 hub.

Notifications set for person detection and doorbell press. Notifications go to 2 iphones, both logged into the same account.

All works fine, notifications go to both phones as expected and events are recorded on an SD card in the hub.

If the doorbell is pressed, the hub chimes as do both phones, but after that event all notifications stop until the doorbell is rebooted. After the reboot all works fine again.

The event recording isn't affected by any of this - they continue to be captured on the SD card even when the notifications aren't coming through.

The notification settings look ok on all devices and the fact that everything works until corrupted, seems to confirm that.

Any ideas?

I would make sure that your doorbell is up to date on its firmware.  If it is, then I would suggest enabling diagnostics on the doorbell;  Settings > Advanced Settings > Diagnostics > Enable.  You will want to wait until it happens again.  Then, try to force a few notifications by getting detected by the doorbell or pressing the button.

After you have done this a few times, you will need to get the SD card from the doorbell and put it into a reader you can connect to a computer or laptop.  Look for the Diag file and copy it to your computer.  Then contact support via email since you have a log to send, and send over the log with a detailed description of the issue.   Include in the email:

  • Phone model
  • OS version
  • App Version
  • Product model
  • Product hardware version
  • Product Frimware Version

This will help avoid unnecessary delays.  In most cases, support will respond that the case has been sent to engineering for review, but should be able to keep you updated regularly until a resolution is found.
