C560WS Snapshot URL
Hello,
I wanted to use the TAPO camera without a cloud which was one of the reasons I decided for this model.
After some tests and good answers from the support it worked in Synology and Motioneye environment.
Bad for me is the not available web-surface in the camera. You always need a TP-Link account and this TAPO-APP!?
But with this finally an ONIF or rtsp access is possible.
Now comes the question: what is the url to access a simple snapshot from the camera? I can not believe that this is missing, but would be a negative decision for this camera.
Normally someting like http://admin:admin@192.168.1.20/snapshot should be available.
Anybody with a good idea?
Thanks

Hi,
The Tapo cameras do not support the feature to access a snapshot using a URL. Could you please describe the use case and the reason you want the snapshot? I'll forward the request to the relevant team for evaluation.

Hi,
Thank you for the response.
I have an environment with Node-Red and other programs where I handle different events from sensors.
If e.g. a movement sensor recognizing something I want to take a picture and send it via e.g. Telegram with some additional text.
This is done with several cameras, all supporting this. Some I wanted to switch to this tapo camera, if this feature is supported.
It needs not to be e.g. http://user:pw@ip-adr/snapshot/size but a solution simply to retrieve from the camera for a software request.
Thanks

Hi,
Thank you for your feedback here. We certainly appreciate your feedback and feature requests.
While we don't have specific details on whether this feature can be added to the product or when it might be, I'll log the feature request and pass it along to the relevant team for evaluation.
I moved this conversation into the 'Feature Request (Tapo)' area for better visibility. If other users have the same request, please vote on this thread or leave your comments.

@Solla-topee thanks for this feedback.
I wonder, why old, standard functions are now feature requests and lost in new products
It like with IP- telephony: all old known ISDN phone features we're reinvented.
Greetings
