I understand that clicking the “Smart Button S200B” to open the door could lead to accidental touches and unintentional opening, but when I think about it, people would use these buttons at a height around shoulder level (speaking from personal experience), so for that reason, I think it’s unlikely users would touch it unintentionally.

To address this security flaw, I’m not sure if it’s possible to restrict the door-opening button (e.g., Tapo DL110) to require a double-tap only; this would prevent accidental touches, and current users would be happy with the change.

 

I would use the Smart Action to lock and unlock the door as follows: Unlock by double-tapping the S200B button, and lock by tapping the same button once. I would also use the door sensor to close the door (DL110 sensor) when it detects that the door is closed. I currently use this mechanism since the “Close Door” Smart Action has been implemented. Thank you for considering this request and for listening to the community. I (and many other users) find this extremely valuable and would love to see this feature included in a future update.

I want to be able to unlock my DL110 by clicking my S200D (on my way in and on my way out) . Also, I don’t really think there may be any security issues, as the S200D would only work while connected to my H100 hub, so, if I bring the S200D with me while away from home, clicking it by accident won’t unlock the door lock since it is not connected to the hub; it will unlock my door lock only when i get back home and after it connects to the hub again. Also, I can put an “IF” to the automation: unlock the door after clicking S200D and only “IF” I am home (geofencing). That way, if i lose my S200D and somebody else finds it, (while I’m away) they won’t be able to unlock my door lock. I can also turn the automation off remotely so no one can use my S200D even if they find it by chance (the S200D); it is even more secure than having a lost physical key somebody else can find and use to open my front door.
