Under Consideration Device Sharing Permissions Needed
Need Permission Granting For Tapo Shared Users
Use Case
I am currently using the C200 as a baby camera, shared with my wife — and the screenshot below shows exactly what she sees. At this point, I have to ask: What is the actual purpose of device sharing if the shared user can't even toggle privacy mode when needed? That's not sharing a device. That's sharing a view.

Solution needed - a permission-based sharing system
If Tapo insists on restricting shared users for security reasons, then the bare minimum solution is a permission system —
Let the owner decide what the shared user can and cannot do. Right now, this feels less like a security decision and more like a half-baked implementation that leaves real users stuck. Competitors like EzViz have already solved this — they offer full functionality to shared users, their cameras are on shelves everywhere, and they even have a desktop app (another long-unanswered request from the Tapo community, but that's a separate conversation).
So here's the ask, Tapo:
Give shared users control based on a permission system where the main user can offer permissions — e.g., privacy mode, camera controls, download access, and settings.
If the team isn't there yet and if a full permission system isn't coming anytime soon, then simply unlock at least half of what you're currently blocking. Because a baby camera that only one parent can control isn't a smart home device.
