Model: Tapo H200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I have a Tapo doorbell D230S1. I had reported a crime to the police regarding a scammer. Once I told the scammer about the police report and the fact that I gave his face in my doorbell camera, the all footage from my doorbell hub H200 was gone in a minute of warning the scammer. I have taken the SD card out and it cannot be read by any of my laptops. It is also not recognised by the hub.

  @DarkerKnight

Remote control of the camera, including viewing, deleting videos, or formatting the SD card, requires logging into the Tapo app with the account that’s bound to the device. Without your account information, these actions cannot be performed remotely.

If your computer also can’t read the SD card, it’s possible the card itself has become faulty. Or it may have been physically damaged? You might want to check for that possibility.

If you have a Tapo Care subscription, detection and doorbell-press videos will be stored in the cloud and can still be accessed and downloaded even when the device is offline. If not, you could look into services that specialize in SD card recovery. If you need any other assistance, feel free to reach out to our support team. Contact Technical Support
