Tapo H200 only works locally and cannot be controlled remotely
Hello,
I have a Tapo H200 smart hub. Today it stopped working correctly. I reconnected the hub and paired the sensors again. The sensors are connected to the H200 successfully, so the Zigbee connection seems to be working.
However, the H200 only works locally. When I try to control it remotely or from mobile data, it does not work. In the Tapo app I see the message:
“Why can I only control my Tapo device locally?”
“The network is currently unstable. Please wait a while and try again.”
Error code: 1
What I have already tried:
- Restarted the router
- Restarted the Tapo H200 hub
- Changed DNS on the router to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
- Checked that there are no router blocks for the H200
- Checked that the H200 has an IP address
- Tried accessing it from mobile data, but it still does not work
- Paired the sensors again successfully
The hub is visible in the local network and the sensors are paired, but the hub does not seem to connect to the Tapo cloud.
Also, today the Tapo app showed that a firmware update was available for the H200. I installed the update, and after the update everything stopped working properly.
Before the update, the hub was at least visible locally and I was able to pair the sensors. After the update, the H200 only works locally / does not work correctly, and remote access through mobile data still does not work.
Current firmware version shown in the app:
Firmware version: 1.7.1 Build 20260515 rel.61602
It looks like the issue may have started or became worse after this firmware update.
