Model: Tapo S112
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.4.0 Build 260112 Rel.171735

Good morning,

I connected the Tapo S112 device to my garage door today. Unfortunately, despite several attempts the automatic calibration does not work at all.

The same applies to the manual calibration.

After completing it correctly (full close and full open), the door closes fine but when opening it stops about 3/4 of the way. I have to press the open button in the app again to open it fully.

My garage door works by applying power to one of two wires for going up or down. This is a standard setup.

These wires go straight to the motor without any intermediate controllers. When the door reaches its upper or lower end position internal limit switches disconnect the input power.

The Tapo app does not allow users to manually type in the time required for the opening or closing cycle.

I would highly appreciate your help or any advice on how to solve this problem.

Sincerely,

bytesseur

  @bytesseur

There is a beta firmware that might be helpful for this situation. If you would like to try it, send me a private message with the Mac address of your Tapo S112.

Before the Upgrade

(1) Please be sure you have read the Beta Test Agreement before upgrading the Pre-release firmware!
(2) How to update the firmware of the Tapo devices on the Tapo App
(3) Firmware downgrade is not supported. When a new official version is released, updating it will overwrite the beta version.
