Hi,

I'm currently testing several Tapo cameras (C210, C510, C310, C520, with SD cards, no cloud storage yet) and I have two questions about the storage of detected videos:

Q1 - The detected events of the day accumulate on the "Playback-Download" screen and are cleared at midnight. Therefore, they are lost if they are not saved before midnight.

This forces me to check the videos every day before midnight. This is not always possible.

Are these videos truly deleted or are they still accessible on the CD card?

Q2 - Sometimes, on one of the devices, downloads are refused, with the message truncated by the width of the smartphone, in French here "("Téléchargement de 10 videos… Veuillez patienter jusqu'à la fin de  …") ("Downloading 10 videos… Please wait until the end of…").

This blockage continues during subsequent sessions. What does this limitation mean, and how can I fix it?

Hello,

The videos shown in the Playback list are stored on the microSD card and are not deleted at midnight; you need to manually select the desired date in the Playback interface. If you choose a previous day (or earlier dates), you should still be able to view those recordings.
Also, if loop recording is enabled, once the microSD card becomes full, the system will automatically overwrite the oldest recordings with new ones.

For the download limitation, please refer to the following FAQ for guidance and solutions: How to Download/Delete Videos from Your Tapo Camera or Doorbell

Best Regards,

Thank you so much for your reply. I'm not yet very familiar with Tapo's extensive documentation, and I hadn't noticed that the older videos were easily accessible…
However, regarding my second question, I haven't yet found any mention of the 10-video limit issue. I'll look into the FAQ more thoroughly.

Thank you
