I have just recently set up my doorbell and realised the sound quality is inaudible.

My neighbours were talking right outside my house and not one word could I make out.

So I got a friend to ring the bell and speak to me and it was just the same.

What is the point of even having it if I can't use it for it's intended purpose?

  @KikiBeau

Hello,

Thank you for your feedback. If the sound is inaudible in Two-Way Talk/Video Call (Cannot hear the visitor’s voice on the phone side)

    1. Go to the doorbell Live View page, tap the Microphone icon, and ensure the Microphone slider is turned up.

    2. Ensure your phone is not in Silent Mode and the Media Volume is turned up.

    3. Check the microphone hole for dust, dirt, or damage. Clean gently if needed to prevent sound blockage.

    4. Ensure the Tapo app has audio and speaker permissions enabled in Phone Settings.

    5. A weak network connection may cause audio delay or loss. Check the doorbell's signal strength following Part 1 in this instruction: How to Check and Fix an Unstable Tapo or Kasa Network Connection.

Improve the connection stability if the signal is weak: Troubleshooting Guide: Tapo Camera, Doorbell, or Smart Device Going Offline

 If the problem persists, contact our customer service team and provide the results of the troubleshooting steps above.
