I’m using several KS200M motion‑capable switches and have confirmed they’re running firmware 1.0.12.  


At present, with 1.0.12, motion detection only controls the local relay; it does not broadcast motion events for Smart Actions.  

 

I understand firmware 1.0.14 is being staged for rollout and will enable motion‑to‑device triggers.  Please confirm this.


Could TP‑Link confirm whether this version will support conditional scheduling (e.g., ON before sunset / OFF after sunrise only if motion detected within 24 hours)?  

 

My goal is to have the KS200M operate on a sunset/sunrise schedule, but only if occupancy has been detected recently—without adding external sensors.

Please advise on rollout timing or whether manual firmware push is possible.

Hi,

Thank you for your detailed inquiry and feedback regarding the KS200M motion sensor switch.
After confirming with our team, we would like to clarify the following:
1. Firmware 1.0.14 has not been released for the KS200M model at this time.
2. The motion detection event currently cannot be used as a trigger for automations (Smart Actions). 
3. We do not have any information regarding the timing of a future firmware release.


We have documented your specific use case and requirement for using motion as a trigger for conditional scheduling (e.g., sunset/sunrise rules based on recent occupancy). This feedback has been forwarded to our product team for their consideration in future planning.
