Hello all,

 

I have Tapo cameras, bulbs and smart sockets in my house. All generally work fine, but over the last 4-5 months, all of them show as offline in my app! They work, then around 2 months later, all show offline again! Tapo have admitted that there has been some 'node' issue their end which is causing it. Has anyone else had similar issues where everything goes offline after a period of a few months?

 

This time a router reboot has bought them all back online, and that is a first! 
 

So im expecting in a few months, everything to go offline again!

From your description, it sounds like you’ve already contacted our support team about this issue. Was it resolved at the time as being caused by a server-side fluctuation?

 

If the problem is still occurring regularly, the root cause likely isn’t the server fluctuation. I recommend identifying the exact type of offline status your device is experiencing and then providing those details to our support team for further investigation. Contact Technical Support

 

For example, please check:

1. Wi-Fi Disconnect: Are the devices disconnecting from your local Wi-Fi?
2. Cloud Disconnect: Are the devices still connected to your router’s Wi-Fi (allowing local control) but has lost its cloud connection (preventing remote management)?
3. App Display Glitch: Does the app show the device as offline even though its Wi-Fi and cloud connections are fine (e.g., the device’s LED shows a normal status)?

I don't think your support team know what's going on tbh.
 

All of your devices are disconnecting from my WiFi, red lights flashing. There's a period of a month to 2 months, and then the whole lot disconnects, all say offline. Everything else continues to work fine. So it's a bit strange all of your products are continually disconnecting and nothing else.

 

I'd be interested if anyone else has similar issues.
