Model: Tapo P100
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.4.5 Build 20210122 Rel. 57265

FR / 1.20 plugs

The entire installation proceeds correctly from the Tapo application.

Identification in Bluetooth, connection to WiFi 2.4 GHz in WPA2.

The plugs are visible in the Tapo app and can be turned on and off.

However, the following message appears: "This Tapo device can only be controlled locally".

When the plugs are active, the led is solid orange.

They are located 30 cm from the router.

I see the plugs connected to my router, and from the application I see that an IP address is assigned to them.

Of course, I tried to reset the plugs, with a lamp plugged into the plug or not.

I also tried changing the WiFi channel. The DNS has been modified with the value 8.8.8.8, all other devices connected to the router connect correctly to the Internet.

Using a phone as a WiFi access point, I was able to connect the plugs and update the firmware to version 1.4.5 Build 20210122 Rel. 57265

In this configuration, the led remains fixed green.

I assume the problem is with my router, but I don't understand which one.

The firewall is disabled, as well as the WiFi access control.

Which tests could I perform to resolve this?

Hello @Chhris

Thank you for your detailed post! I believe you tried most of the troubleshooting listed here: What should I do if I fail to configure the Tapo Smart Plug?

Have you ever factory reset device and reinstall but still have the 'local only ' error?  Please confirm Tapo APP is up-to-date.

If you have a modem + router, please also check the firewall on modem, and contact ISP side and see they any settings that may block smart device.

May I know the model of router or network topology, does smart plug connect to router directly or through extenders?

I would like to escalate your case to seniors through email, please check your inbox later.

Hello @Solla-topee

Yes, I have already tried, and I have reset several times.

The Tapo app is 2.4.44 and seems to be up-to-date.

The router model is AIoT AX3600 Mi.

No extenders.
