If you want an extra switch to control the light without wiring, the new Tapo smart button S200B will be a good choice. By creating a Smart Action rule (shortcut or automation), you're able to control the existing Tapo switch or light bulb with the smart button.

  @Julianafai

If you want to set up three, four, or even more switches to control the same light without dealing with excessive wiring, you can simply install a Tapo single pole switch and use a Tapo Smart Button. Then, create automation rules to control this wired switch with the smart button, enabling multi-way control of the same light.

The advantage of using a Smart Button is that you can adjust the lights (switches) it controls at any time. For example, if you originally set it up to control the hallway light in Room A but now want it to control the living room light, you can easily change the automation rules within the Tapo App (Note: Smart Button can only create automation rules with Tapo/Kasa devices. If your lights use traditional switches, the button cannot control them).

Automation rules can simultaneously control multiple devices, allowing you to use a single button as a master control to switch all the lights (Tapo switches) with a single press.

Then automation rules can be created as follows.

Multi-point Control for the same light

Set A Master Control

When (Trigger)

- S200B(living room) Single Tap

- S200B(kitchen) Single Tap

- S200B(backdoor) Single Tap

Then (Action)

- Tapo Smart Switch A Turn On/Off

*Turn On/Off: Switch the device's current status (to on if it's off and vice versa)

When (Trigger)

- S200B(front door) Double Tap

Then (Action)

- Tapo Smart Switch A Turn On/Off

- Tapo Smart Switch B Turn On/Off

- Tapo Smart Switch C Turn On/Off

*Turn On/Off: Switch the device's current status (to on if it's off and vice versa)
