Hi,

There is a bad bug between the motion automation and the L630 bulbs.

I have 4 L630's bulbs I want to auto turn off if no activity is detected after X mins.  I am using your "Turn lights on when you come and go and then off after 2 minutes" smart actions from the motion sensor actions page.  The behaviour of the bulbs is not working correctly. I have the motion detection set to every 60 sec's.  Range detection set to low.

When we are in the room moving around every 1 minute the the bulbs never work in unison.  You find every 1 minute the bulbs will flicker on and off for a second.  Then another minute later 3 will go off and 1 stays off.  Then another minute passes and 2 might come on and 2 stay off.  Then all 4 might come on another minute later.  Sometimes all 4 will go  whilst moving in the room!  It's really annoying and makes the whole concept completely useless as you can't use the room in the dark properly.  I have paired and unpaired, factory reset, redone the smart actions endless times.  All code is the latest on all devices involved.

I want the bulbs not to flicker.  I want all four bulbs to stay on until we walk away where they should go over automatically after 2 mins as the action says.  Not a disco effect of randon bulbs going on and off every minute the sensor detects us.

  @Wayne-TP Thanks Wayne. The explore smart actions had created numerous inactive conflicting rules.

I found creating rules via the smart/ automation menu works way better.

I've found trying to motion detect the smart bulbs on to auromate is buggy. It's best to combine the motion sensor with the light switch and this works flawlessly.

  @ITgeezer

Can you double-check the settings of this automation? Kindly share a screenshot of your settings here. (Tapo App ->Smart ->Automation)

Try to reduce the number of action devices for testing, for example, starting from one light bulb. If the automation can run smoothly without delays, you can gradually increase the number of action devices.

Note: If you’ve been using Explore Smart Action to create automations and haven’t checked or edited the automation rules in the Smart tab, there might be conflicting rules among the ones you’ve created. Please confirm if there are any duplicate rules in your history.
