At the moment it's possible to define and name a group of devices. The only possible action with a group is to turn the group on/off via Favourites / Room or via a Shortcut. Just being able to apply / remove power isn't good enough - a group should be able to support all of the common controls that the members of that group have e.g. for a group of light bulbs it should be possible to control the brightness, color etc (at the moment if you have a group you have to set these individually for each member).

It should also be possible (but isn't yet) be possible to apply a schedule, the Away criteria etc to a group - again, currently these have to be individually applied to each device and it makes no sense, say, to have a set of wall lights on their own individual randomised on/off patterns whilst in Away.
