I cannot get Alexa routine to "see" smart device when adding routine.

Can someone help?

Thermostat is not shown under Smart home when i want to create routine.

Thanks

  @Jbc0smith

Alexa seems to have limitations with third-party temperature sensors. There doesn't seem to be a temperature sensor that can be used for setting routine triggers, at least not I'm aware of.

I'm not sure if this is something that can be achieved by our product development, or if it is something that Alexa would need to optimize. For now, let's consider it as a feature request.

yes I'd love to be able to use the tapo temperature sensor to trigger alexa routines that control our AC. Especially in the middle of the night. Our AC is already Alexa controllable. The TP100 plugs are no good since the AC is hardwired. Need the sensor to run "cooling in bedrooms" routine if the temp reaches 21degC. for example.

I’m facing a similar issue. I have a Toyotomi Erai air conditioner that’s hardwired. It comes with its own app for smartphone control and is connected to my Alexa. My Tapo temperature sensor is also linked to the Alexa app, but it doesn’t appear when I try to set up a routine. For instance, at night, I want the AC to switch on if the temperature exceeds 28°C and turn off when it drops below 27°C.
