Model: Tapo C530WS
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.1.3

The Tapo C530WS goes offline after around 1 day with the following log:

<4>2025-09-24 19:36:12[tpssl][115904.009]domain: euw1xxxxxxxcom DNS failed, error_type: 1006. ( I had to remove the exact address. )

<2>2025-09-24 19:36:12[CloudIot]MQTT conn err: 1006.

<2>2025-09-24 19:36:12[CloudIot]MQTT event 4 err, stas 0

<4>2025-09-24 19:36:22[tpssl][115914.010]domain:euw1xxxxxxxcom idle --> dns query.

This message repeats over and over again, after finally the camera goes offline. The diagnostic file btw is corrupt, it contains lots of non-ASCII characters at the end, blows up to 5 MB.

Firmware is the latest, camera is connected via LAN, DNS servers were set to 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8 but that didn't help. After a restart the cam works great, but for just around 24 hours...

What's wrong?

Hi,
Please confirm the following information about the offline behavior.

  1. What's the model number of your router? Have you tried rebooting your router and checking if this helps?

  2. When the camera goes offline in the Tapo app, what's the LED status on it? When your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi router as the camera, will the camera display online in the Tapo app? Can your phone ping the camera's IP address?

  3. You can go to the camera's Device Settings > Reboot Camera page to enable the Auto Reboot feature and check if it helps.

  4. Refer to the following instructions to collect the camera log and check if you can do it successfully.
      How to get the log of Tapo Camera

Best Regards
