Okay this was easy, I just created a custom VLAN for the mesh backhaul and assigned the LAN1 port of the BE550 and the WAN port of the AX73 to the mesh VLAN and the BE550 detected the wired backhaul....

It is an SG3428, should include support for the IEEE 1905.1 control packets. Both of the ports are parts of VLANs (10,20,30) but the port PVIDs are the same (1) and VLAN 1 is untagged for the ports.
