I am using an EAP245 as my main AP and I have 4 SSID on the 2.4 as well as 4 SSID on the 5GHz side. Two rooms away, I have a RE580D that connects to my VPN on 2.4 and VPN5G SSID on the EAP245. The extended SSID are VPN_EXT and VPN5G_EXT and that works, although there is some spotty connections from time to time. At the work area, I placed another extender, this time a RE590T. I pointed the RE590 to the RE580 (VPN_EXT and VPN5G_EXT), but I changed the extended SSID back to VPN and VPN5G. My thought that using the RE580 at the man in the middle, I could have a fake roaming setup, so that devices (laptops, tablets, phones, etc) would be able to bounce back and forth with not need to change SSID. I even hid the extended SSID on the RE580, so no one would become confused with all of the SSID floating around.Obviously, my layout was not optional. I have turned off the RE590T because every time I attempted to connect to it, I lose all connectivity to the internet. So with the two extenders, what should be the ideal setup to that I can have a roaming environments?

Thats' to say, in your work area, the devices can't successfully switch to RE590T?How about if you change RE580D and RE590T? The roaming also requires the clients supporting the same roaming protocl. Otherwise, it depends on the chip of the client. Some clients won't switch even it detects the better signal if the current signal is ok.
