Firmware Version : 0.9.1 0.2 v008a.0 Build 171229 Rel.54327n(5553)
ISP : Suddenlink
Model : TL-WR902AC
I am using Windows 10 on thinkpad T570 with all updates. The first WR902AC router I used at hilton, at starbucks and at home. It worked well. I gave it to someone at the office. I purchased a 2nd router and configured it the same way, testing it at home first. I am connecting in WISP model to linksys ea9500. Everything in my home network is running great. I have everything setup and can connect WISP to either 2.4 or 5 ghz channels on the linksys. Both SSIDS on the linksys are not broadcast. I have two SSIDs on WR902AC. All is good. I can do everything and all options appear to work. When I hide the roadcasting the SSID of the 2.4 ghz channel on the WR902AC, everything still worked great. I can connect from laptop, phone, chromecast, etc.
However, when I hide the broadcast of the SSID on the 5ghz channel on the WR902AC, I cannot connect, to that SSID. Or, if I connect it drops immediately. My laptop supports 5ghz connections to my linksys. I turned wifi-analyzer on my phone and I can see the WR902AC 5ghz channel turn on for a bit, then turn off, repeat. The last time I saw pulsating signal on another brand router, I had to return it as it had a hardware problem.
Ideas?
