Deco M9 Plus slow speeds with strong internet connection
When I run a speed test in the Deco app, I'm seeing 280mbps which is in line with the service we get from Comcast.
However, when I run a speed test on any of the devices connected to the network via wifi, they all consistently come back at about 75mbps.
Does anybody know a way to fix this? We have Deco m9 downstairs and one upstairs in a roughly 1,300 square foot home. Any help would be super appreciated!

Dstance is the number one factor in any router's loss of speed. When running the speed test from the main deco that is dirrectly connected to the ISP modem you are seeing the true speed the router is recieving. However when you run a speed test from the client device, Distance, EMI and congestion all factor in. To first troubleshoot this issue you would want to be conneted to the main unit and with in 5 feet of the router. Run a speed test and record the results. double your disance and repeat this process till speeds being to reduce. At this point see if there is anything that may interfere with your connection, such as a load bearing wall or a major appliance not connected to a surge protector. and try at least temporarliy removing the obstical or unpluging the device and testing again to see if the speed/connection improves.
Also you can make sure your modem is just a modem or in modem only mode. Having a gateway device operational can create a double NAT enviroment and cause speed issues on your network devices.
Lastly try relocating the 2nd Deco unit to another location and see if the speed improves.

I have the same issue. Internal Speedtest shows strong 300mbit inbound, and I’m checking speed on my device standing right next to Deco and it shows constant 60mbit no more no less. I thought my device connected to 2,4G and turned off this band on Deco. Same result.

Our Deco units have what we call Adaptitve Routing Technology or ART. This technology allows you to create a single network name and password and the router decides the best possible path for the devices traffic. This path is chosen by determining the type of content, the load of the content and the capabilities of the device requesting the content. Because of this you are not able to disable any network band on the Deco. It is possible your device is on the 2.4GHz band. One test you can try is connect a computer to the "Base unit" and run a speed test. Then Run the same test from a "Remote" unit. the difference in the test results will let you know the speed reduction is isolated to the wireless connection or the network as a whole.

I have tested base unit and stood near it. I’m using 5Ghz compatible devices: 2 iPhones and 2 iPads. Mesh base unit showing much lower results than other routers I have in other part of my house (Archer AD3200 and AC7200).
I want to mention: the range of mesh is perfect with no issues and dead spots.
I’ll test mesh on pc with PCE-AC88 card. Will be back soon.

Yeah I just showed the testing engineer this image and they misunderstood me yesterday. This was a feature that was added to the Decos in a recent update. You can disable a band but you cannot set seperate SSIDs. This is what he thought i was asking when i asked him to confrim this infromation.

I tested a connection through wired and it is much faster.
Wired connected to DECO: 500Mbps+
Wifi Wireless: 12Mbps
What's happening? What was the solution?
