Hi,

I am having same issue.

I have a FIOS Gigabit internet connection. The Speed test when run in Deco app shows 800 mb download and 900 mb upload speed.

When I do a speed test connect from iPhone to wifi Deco it is capped at 80/90 mb download and 95-97 mb upload.

The whole unit is working fine with no issues. I am getting same 80/90 speed all ower the house and I have two Deco unit connected.

Somehow Deco is limiting the wifi speed to 100 mb

Thanks!
Parag

Hello tp-link team.

non of your reply’s are usfull .... you need to admit that your devices are uncapable to give more that 60% of the ISP speed on WiFi. This is not what you are marketing your product to ur customers.

I have 5 units of M9 facing each other and on an open space ....... at best I’m getting 250mb out of the 500mb package I have .

i have placed my phone right on top off the M9 the same result

I have disabled 2.5Ghz network and it’s the same .

i used the beam option still the same .

i have done a big investment on the five M9 units .... and I’m getting less than what a standard router would give me .

i have to restart all deco every other day because of the speed drops ...which is inconvenient.

all this has started after your last upgrade ..... I hope u take this seriously plz

I had some initial problems as well, but even after the latest update and a reboot of the complete net because of a power outage, I am getting 462 down, 23 up through WiFi on a Galaxy S10+ - the same speed that I get through the wired connections. That is pretty much the speed that the Deco reports and also what I buy from my service provider (Spectrum).

I'm happy (not happy) to see others having the same issues.

I recently switched ISP's moving from a 40/10Mbps service to a full Gig up/down. Of course, I don't expect to see full Gig transfers given latency, device issues, etc. However, I would expect to see improved performance from my TP Link Deco M9 solution...

Connected to the ISP modem I do see full Gig up/down, at the primary deco (wired or wireless) I see 600 down/ 750 up. A little loss, but again, It's not a huge deal, as most hardwired devices are seeing similar numbers (500-800 up/down). Wireless devices next to the primary M9 see similar throughput. Primary M9 in basement 2nd on 2nd floor - Great wifi coverage throught the house, garage, and outside!

Now here's where things get funky... My second M9 is hardwired to the first, and this device has a PC hardwired into it. I am not able to get more than 90Mbps up/down through the PC. (PC NIC is set to 1Gb full duplex) I assume devices connected to this deco (as they sit next to it - ie. MacBook, iPhone, iPads, etc.) are also limited to 90Mb up/down.

I have direct connected the PC to the ISP modem and see closer to Gig numbers. I have connected the PC through the primary M9 and immediately see the throughput "capped" at 100Mbps up/down.

To me, this points to something with the M9's throttling bandwidth, or the internal NIC not set to 1Gb. Prior to switching providers I saw the full 40/10 on all devices across the entire network. I didn't meassure copying data across the network previosuly, but I have since changing providers and trying to troublshoot this netwrok issue, anything connected through the M9 is limited to 100Mb during copy process. Removing the M9 from the equation and I get 1Gb data copies across devices on my network.

I will also add that originally QoS was enabled on the M9's, and was set to my previous ISP throughput (this is done during initial setup). Given the bandwidth restrictions of my previous ISP the M9's did throttle everything to 40/10. I updated the throughput numbers and see any setting over 100 doesn't make a difference, but throttles to 100. Removing QoS completely again throttles at 100Mb.

Can QoS not recognize the 1024 setting? Is the secodnary M9 throttled, even when hardwired? Is there a NIC setting issue with M9's?

I stand with the folks on this thread. TP Link needs to address this issue. It is apparently happening to many of us.

I am using the Deco M9 plus running firmware 1.2.8 Build 20190403 Rel. 43515 (Apparently the most up to date release)

Did you try disabling "Parental Controls", "Antivirus" and "QOS" features? I have all disabled and no problems with the WiFi (Galaxy S10+) giving me the full speed (469/21).

Full reset and net new configuration. No anti-virus, parental controls or QoS enabled. Swapped devices/locations. Same issues.

Just spent time with Tp Link support. They beleive one of the devices is bad, causing the "throttling" and want to replace both units. He mentioned something about v1 having issues...

I do find this hard to beleive given I swapped the devices/location and started from scratch. I still see great performance on the primary M9 (old secondary - that had poor performance) and poor performance on the secondary.

I wonder if these devices use the wireless backhaul even if they are hard wired?

Disable all the features I paid $ for to make it possibly work? Is this a joke?
