Model: Archer C2300
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: V1_180611

In short:

The tether App is a surprise sometimes works but often times does not. I have searched the forums and I am not alone on this issue. There is definitely a problem with it and TP-LINK is just not working on this issue. When is this going to be fixed???

If one removes or blocks a wifi client, there no another way to provide access (to the block client) other than thru the tether app. On the web menu on the router it does not lists the client status to be unblocked.

Cannot block a specific website or domain. Why was this remove on this horrible firmware??? Overall not happy with this router since the firmware feels cripple.

@Joe_RTK

The Archer C2300 V1's orignal frimware did not include HomeCare.  Once this service was ready it was added via a firmware update.  When this happened the Parental controls changed signficantly but for the better we think.  With HomeCare's partental controls you set a profile based on the user.  Set their age restricitions as well as custom restrictions such as specific website, applications or domains.  Then add the devices associated to that user and their access times.  This is diffrent then the old Domain based settings and allows for more robust user based restrictions.

For the blocking of devices, this is a feature that is built into the tether app and desinged to allow a quick removal or blocking of a device that should not be on the network.  It is not a feature built into our GUI at this time.  I can forward your concern to our software team for a possible future update, but i can't gaurantee it can be added.

Best Regards
