iPhones suddenly will not connect to Archer C4000 router - says incorrect PW...
I noticed the other day that my wireless connection to my router with my iPhone was spotty, so today I finally had time so I restarted the cable modem and the C4000. Since I did so, we cannot connect with our iPhones anymore, it keeps saying that the PW is incorrect, but that is not possible. I have verified the password is correct in the admin tool, and I can connect via my laptop, although it appears to be a weak connection event though I am sitting right next to it.
The hardwire router functionality works fine, I can connect via Ethernet and all of my hardwired devices work fine. Just cannot connect with iPhones. I have had to set up another old router to get wireless devices working for now.
I have reloaded the firmware, restarted everything numerous times, but it did nothing, the issue remains. I have had this router since late October 2018, and it has been flawless up until now. Disappointed that I am having these issues...
Can I get an older version of the firmware to see if that will fix the problem? I cannot find older versions on the support website.

Hi everyone,
We are still investigating this issue. My software team has asked for everyone experiancing this issue to provider their serial numbers so we can see if maybe there was a Batch quality issue or something other coincidence we can find. Please PM me that infromation so that you are not sharing your serial publically.
Thank you

Hi Carl - thank you for your diligence in tracking this down, but I returned mine to the retailer and bought a new router. Thanks again

Hi Carl,
I have the same problem as described here. My c4000 is surge protected and as with the other people I can connect via cable, but the wifi shows on when it is not.
Do you have a solution for this?
Thanks
Peter

I just purchased the C4000 router on 8/3 last saturday and began having this problem on 8/5 yesterday. Just seems odd! I have rebooted the router twice and it is working now but waiting to see how long it holds. Thought it was originally just iphones and ipads, but then had the problem "wrong password" from a Dell Windows 10 laptop. There are no other TPLink routers in my area that I can see that would cause a conflict. Any progress on this?

I have had the same problem, it seems to be limited to V2 Hardware ..... TP-Link, can we get a resolution for this or can you authorize my retailer to refund me? I'm out $250 as its beyond the 2 week return date. Any answer would be helpful.

All of this has been done. There seems to be a similarity with these issues all being on V2 hardware, including another issue that I ran into that V2 will have a network outage if there is a space in the name of a DHCP reservation. All V2 hardware related.
