Trying to complete setup on the second AC1900 bought today (first was a dud). I have two outstanding problems.

 

The router keeps randomly rebooting. The 5 Ghz network is not seen by my Android phone, or my Samsung Chromebook.

 

The router is connected to a wall outlet, not a surge protector.

 

Have I got a second dud?

Hi, can you let us know a few things about your setup.

 

1.  Who is your ISP?

2.  Are you using seperate SSIDs on 2.4 and 5?

3.  Are they different than the router you are replacing?

4.  What lights are on your Router? and What color are they?

5.  How do you have the Wireless networks setup?

Download WiFi analyzer for your Android phone from Google Playstore. Take a look at what frequencies are being used in your neighborhood. Choose something away from all the traffic. Try a plain vanilla set-up with separetly named guest networks on 2.4 and 5.0 not requiring any passwords and see if that works.
