Model: TL-PA9020P KIT
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

My issue is that I am able to obtain FULL Internet speed - I have Fiber 100 mbps coming from my router through the first Powerline - out the other powerline to my computer at the front end of my home.  BUT, when I do file transfer (move / copy)  I only get 1/2 of the speed.  I have looked at many things on my network card Advanced settings - played with QOS on the computer - tried different computers on the front end.  It is not a speed problem per se caused by the wiring, if there were my internet speed would not be full speed (bits are bits    BUT packets are not just packets).  Is there a BETTER QOS setting on the Powerline than "Internet" that works for file transfers - it is not Video / Gaming / Voice exactly - so what shoud I choose?

I have TL-PA9020P KIT - making 2 Powerline AV 2000 adapters and TL-PA8010 KIT - making 2 Powerline AV 1200 adapters.  I have turned off all power management features.  I have swapped the differnet nodes to the various locations makeing the 2000 the one on the Router and on the front room computer and put the my 1200 in place of those.  I have multiple computers so no matter what to configuration i always have all four plugged in.  The AV2 2000 have a V3 firmware version (the very latest) and the AV2 1200 have a V2 firmware vresion (the very latest).  I am usng CAT 6 network cables so it is not older Cat 5e (not that it should matter) so I am Gigabit solid.

I have plugged the devices (Security Camera System / Laptop (with external drive) / Internet Router / Powerline device) using the NIC ports on the Router.
I then introduced a Gigabit hub connecting all devices through instead of the routher to rule out any possibility that the Router was doing QOS.  In all cases Internet is full speed.  In all cases file transfer speed is half speed.

@beshelman

When you do a copy/move is it from one device on the network to another?

If you were to do a copy/move while connected to the switch rather then the powerline what speeds do you get from beginning to end?

These are the numbers showing Both Internet and copying a file from computer to computer.

Usually the Powerline internet is right in line with the Router but I won't sugar coat the numbers.
The File Copy numbers over Power Line are as I stated 1/2 of the Internet numbers.
Computers used are a Modern laptop on LAN to an older laptop with a SATA II drive on LAN
The NIC in both computers is 10/100/1000 running at 1000 Full Duplex.

The link rates may be related to what you are seeing.

Assuming you have the following topology:

router ------ TL-PA9020P -- PC1

                                        ~~~ TL-PA9020P -- PC2
What link rates do you see for the powerline devices? You can find that in the tpPLC utility. Are the speeds you mentioned in the charted related to PC2?
Have you tried wiring two PCs into one powerline device to see what speed you get?
I set up IIS FTP on PC1 and mapped in the folder with the files I am moving.  PC2 is able to copy the files at 100 mobs +.  So since FTP is usually an Internet protocol I now assume the QoS of the powerline moves the bits faster .  Unfortunately with FTP it is a copy so I still have to delete the files from PC1 as an extra step.  There should be an option for regular network activity like computer to computer transfers in the QoS options!!!!!
It is easy to get 100.bps on pa9020p kit.
The real problem is with internet speeds above 300mbps WAN side.
I have a 500mbps connection and PA9020P fails to deliver full speed topping out at about 20or30% of powerline link rate. Very poor product performance!!!
Those with BT or Sky or Talktalk fibre sub 100mbps will never know!
That's how you get tricked!!
