Can the ethernet link on the M5 support and power POE devices (e.g. Security Camera)?

No, but there is a way to use a non-POE device to power a POE Client product.   You would need a POE Injector.  Connect the non-power end to the router hook power to the injector and then plug the powered end into the client device

 

 

You would just need to make sure the injector meets the client device power requirements and that you do now connect the power end to the router.  Doing so could damage the router and that would not be covered under warranty
