T3U Archer only connecting at USB 2.0 speed

I'm using a T3U ARcher wifi adapter as a hotspot on my Win10 pc but am receiving a "Device can perform faster when connected to USB 3.0" warning in my Devices settings.
I know it's not an issue with the port (have tried all 3.0 ports on my PC and they work with other USB 3.0 devices correctly) and I have updated to the latest drivers. I have the wireless mode set to IEEE 802.11ac, however it still caps out at 400Mbps when connected.
Any guidance how I can get this to operate at full speed? Thanks
