Model: RE650
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.6 Build 20180719 Rel. 36926

I am trying to use the RE650 as an access point on my patio but it does not seem to be working properly. My patio is within range of my router but I have an Ethernet cable that I was using for my smart tv so I have the RE650 wired and in access point mode.  When I try to connect my Amazon Fire Stick 4K to the Tp-Link RE650 it reports that is connected with problems and I have no internet access.  I am going to reconfigure the RE650 with a different SSID and see if helps but I would rather not have to do that.

The main reason that I am trying to use the RE650 in access point mode is because there are times that the wireless signal on the patio sometimes mysteriously drops to almost no existence even though router is only 30 feet away.

Is the ethernet cable connected to the RE650 going to one of your Router's LAN ports or is it going into your Smart TV?

@Carl It is connected to port on a switch connected to my router.  The access point is working fine with a separate SSID but if unreliable when using the same network name.  This might be because it is so close to my router.  I just don't know.

When settting it up in AP mode and using the same SSID you would want the RE650 to be outside of the range of the router or to disable the rotuer's Wifi.  Having them in range of each other has the potential to create interference as they are broadcasting the same signal on the same frequency.  Kinda like two people in a conversation trying to talk at the same time.  If that makes sense.
