@Carl

Another month has gone by, and I did get a firmware update, but still no OneMesh.

Honestly getting to the point where I'll just replace my TP-Link equipment (router, extender, smart plugs, lights etc) with another brand that doesn't lie about things being "future proof" on the box!

Hi Lucy,

We understand the concerns, however OneMesh was not and to this day is not a sold feature for the product so it has no impact on the claims of Futureproofing your network.  That is related to the WiFi 6 features which are and will be the new norm going forward.  While the OneMesh service is planned for the router we have no information to provide of when or if the service is comming to the router.  At this point it is just that a plan.  Plans can change.  We are hoping that it doesn't but as the AX3000/AX50 have proven it does happen.

@Carl

That's a load of garbage. "Planned" may be a clever word to use on marketing and packaging to avoid litigation for false advertising, but if "Plans can change" is the best TP Link can come up with, then customers can change too. The worst part of this is my 4 year old low-range TP Link router had OneMesh compatibility. How is TP Link selling ANY new routers that aren't compatible with TP Link's own proprietary mesh protocol?!

As a commercial network engineer, my friends and family often ask me which products to buy for their homes. I frequently recommended TP Link products, but now that I have advised others to get the same AX1500 router as me, they are asking me which range extender/repeater to get, I cannot advise any of TP Link's products since their compatibility is no better than any other brand's (non-mesh & non-transparent), not to mention TP Link's credibility has sunk to an all-time low.

I will stop purchasing TP Link products and advise others to do the same until advertised product features are delivered. Support your product.

Hi @Carl ,

1. Is there any updated information about the release?

2. Do developer team actually working on that feature in this router?

Regards,

A

@AndrzejP

Not yet and we won't have infromation till the feature is acutally released.  All I can offer is check back on friday evening when the website is updated.  That's when I find out if a feature has been added to a device.

@Carl
I noticed this review on Amazon suggests mesh support was added in Nov. Can you comment?
The November update adds Mesh capabilities. (amazon.com)

@cpow99 still no OneMesh on mine.

The last update I got is build 20201116.

The review you linked is for the AX1800 but this thread is for the AX1500.

@cpow99

As of the update from last Friday the AX1500 and AX10 are still without this requested  feature.  We do note the AX10 V1 is still marked planned so it should still be in the works.  Still the best answer of when is to check the website and the router's online update (if connected to a TP-Link ID) on Friday as that is when updated are pushed.  For the Website I usually have them up by 4pm Pacific.

@Carl Still no update and I just checked the website and it seems that the AX1500 has been removed from the list!

The AX10 is still "planned" and the AX1800 has already been updated.

Can you explain why the AX1500 is no longer even "planned"?

I've waited for this update all this time and if it's not even planned any more then I'll be buying from another brand ASAP and not coming back to TP-Link!
