Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.0 build 20190821

Version is 1.8

 

I purchased the tp-link in part because of the alexa skill that allows me to pause the internet on certain devices. 

 

I have no discovered that there two alexa skill levels and the m5 is the only one that allows the native skill that will allow pausing of devices. 

 

1.  Is this correct?  Is so when can the native skill be expected in the M9 plus?

2.  Is there any work around that anyone has figured out?

Check out this FAQ  https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1569/  I do not see that the Deco's have the Alexa skill to pause though. The FAQ was last updated on 12/20/19 so its quite possible that particular skill does not exist.  Have you ever been able to do this task?

See support FAQ 1570. I can get through steps 1-6 no problem. However step 7 and forward do not work with my M9 Plus as the primary deco. 

 

The ability to control wifi access through alexa was always referred to as the Alexa native skill. This is now supposed to be available for the M9 plus according to the 1.4 software update from a few days ago.

Did you have any errors reported?  Especially on step 7, the discovery step.
