Model: Archer A7
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 1.0.11

Router cannot find internet connection from wired connection to modem. ISP repeated confirms modem is fine with good signal, but I cannot get router to see an internet connection so I can upgrade firmware.

Bypass the router and connect a PC direct to the modem being sure to use a good Ethernet cable. Power cycle the PC and modem. Test your connection. If you have an issue, it is not the router. Try a different cable and check the pins in the connectors to ensure none are bent. If you get a good connection and speed, then power down and reattach the router, power up, and retest. Use good cables as that is often a cause. Next try a factory reset.

@jr00

Another thing to try is to leave the A7 on, and reboot only the modem. Some modems will not recognize the router not giving a internet connection so they need to be rebooted.
