Model: Archer AX11000
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.0.5build20200216

Long story with a lot different setup test.

1. I have a gigabit fiber ONT directly connected with Ethernet cable

2. I have C4000 router from TP-link, tested speed with the included speed test from the router, at around 800Mbps download/upload

3. Connect to C4000 Wifi 5G, get 200Mbps up/down on devices, from a thrid party speed test site, consistently.

4. I bought an AX11000, and connected it directly to the Ethernet port of the fiber ONT, tested speed, at 700Mbps down, 300Mbps up

5. I connect my device to AX11000 wifi, and tested with third party speed test at 200Mbps down, 10Mbps up. Yes, only 10Mbps, no matter 2.4G or 5G WiFi

 5.1 Connect C4000 to AX LAN port, tested with router speed test, at around 700Mbps down, 300Mbps up

 5.2 Connect to C4000 Wifi, tested at 200Mbps down and 10Mbps up.

6. Connect C4000 router directly to ONT Ethernet, then connect AX11000 to C4000 LAN port, tested with router included speed test on AX11000, now the speed is at around 800Mbps up/down from AX11000,

 6.1 Connect to AX11000 wifi, tested at 200Mbps up/down.

My question is, why does the AX11000 directly connect to fiber box not work?

Both routers has their latest firmware available. Tried factory reset the AX11000 after firmware upgrade, power cycle.

For the thrid party speed test, I always use the same site as banchmark, so I'm just comparing different setup, not saying whatever the fiber box bit rate.

Anybody know why? I'm very confused with this.

I did additinal test to reset the ONT but didn't fix the problem. It's pretty clear that the hardware is fine since it can achieve higher speed behind C4000, just doesn't work when directly connected to the ONT Ethernet. Seems like my only choice now is to return it to the store.

@Rol123 @Tony I am having a similar problem with AX11000.  When testing on the Tether app, the speed test is showing 800 down/780 up.  The router is connected directly to the ONT.  But when I run a speed test from a device (computer/phone), I get 380 down/13 up.  I'm more concerned about the upload speed being so slow, than achieving gigabit speeds.  Can you help with a solution?

@Rol123

I have a similar issue. Bought a brand new AX11000, connected it directly to the Verizon FIOS ONT. I am supposed to be getting 300 Mbps up and down from Verizon, and the routers internal speed test does confirm it.

But when I attach my laptop directly to one of the Ethernet ports of the router, and do a speed test on the laptop, I get 300 down but only 150 up.

I am using the Ethernet cable that came in the AX1000 box, so no, it is not a cable problem. The laptop is also a fancy new one (Surface Book 2). But I used other laptops and got the same problem.

@Bob63

Try the following changes:

-Set the application priority to standard (Advanced > HomeCare > QoS)
-Set the QoS speed manually to 1000 Mbps for up and down (In the same menu above)
-Disable any device priority (Game Center > Dashboard)
-Disable HomeCare features (Advanced > HomeCare > Antivirus)

@Rol123 i have the same problem,

i did everything that was said on the net and still my upload speed is around 125 Kbps when it should be 50 Mbps .. I tested another router and it gave me the required upload speed.

i have tested wireless, and through Ethernet cable and yet the problem is still available.

I have regret buying this 450$ router when i can buy another brand that is reliable.

i think its a problem with th AX11000 since multiple users are facing the same problem without a solution
