If other devices are working okay but the laptop is not, then I would suspect the laptop. Power off both the router and the laptop, power on the router, wait for it to stabilize, then power up the laptop as sometimes that helps. Check your network settings in your PC. If WIFI, try different channels and band width on the router.

I would also check if your laptop has any software suite that may be getting in the way. You could try booting your computer in safe mode, and doing speed tests. That will help determine if there is something on the computer causing the slow down.

I have tried everything and the issue persists I am started to think its something related to tp link firmware as only my windows laptop is getting throttled but if I am streaming youtube video it would work with full speed. Even the link speed is high

I can confirm that I have exactly the same problem. For now only my laptop (Microsoft Surface Book 2) has problems with wifi speed. A laptop reboot sometimes helps but most of the time it doesnt. The wifi speed was terrible before (capped at 10% of max speed), but I deleted the tether app and reset the router to default, now only the laptop struggles (capped at 50% of max speed). This router has ridicuously many problems and I've only had it for 3 days.

Thanks for the reply! I've had this device for years, this is the first router that has this problem.

Are you having issues with both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. Some devices are more sensitive to bandwidth so that may be a setting you may want to change. Change NAT Boost. Did you update your Surface 2 around the same time as you got the router? Are you using QoS? Is IPv6 working (https://test-ipv6.com/)?
