Model: Archer A7  
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 1.0.14

Hi I recently purchased an Archer A7 as I was getting Fios installed at my place. I am paying for 200 up / 200 down, but I am only getting 60-80 up and similar down.

 

When I bypass my router and plug directly into the modem, I am getting 280 down / 80 up.

I have tried enabling and disabling the following: WWM, NAT Boost, QoS. Duplex has been changed from auto to 1000 Mbps full duplex. 

 

Still no luck. Is there something else I should try?

I would try replacing the Ethernet cables with at least Cat 5E. You may have a bad cable. Gigibit speeds use all eight wires where the 100 Mbps use only four wires. Look at the pins in the cable and in the router for possible bent misaligned pins. Be sure your router has the current firmware and is using the power adapter that came with it.

@unregistered Hi that did the trick. Switched to a different ethernet cord, and getting much better speeds. Thank you, don't know why I didn't think of that.
