I'm Getting a message that my wi-fi network uses an older security standard that might not protect you.  not sure what to do

Are you using an iOS14 device?  If so Apple has decided that its software will now indicate anything less than WPA2 with AES is older security setting.  Check your router's wireless settings and see what the encryption is set to.  If its Auto or TKIP manually change it to AES save the settings and that should solve the concern.
