Is Deco Assigning IP Address in AP Mode?
Good morning.
To give you a picture of my setup:
Modem/ONT > OPNSense Router > Deco S4 in AP mode (main Deco) --- two more S4 Decos using WiFi back-haul.
I am using the main network for my computers/tablets, and the guest network for my IoT devices. I have the "Isolate from Main Network" switch turned on.
In OPNSense, I set up 2 DHCP pools; one for my main network (for computers/tablets/etc.), and a separate DHCP pool for anything on the guest network (set with VLAN 591). However, everything is being assigned in the Main DHCP pool on OPNSense including IoT devices. I remember reading somewhere that the VLAN tag won't work with WiFi back-haul (I heard it may be done in a future firmware update).
So, I manually assigned IP addresses to the "guest" DHCP pool for my IoT devices. E.g., I set a WiFi wall switch to 192.168.3.3, so OPNSense is showing the IP address in the "guest" DHCP pool. However, in the Deco App, it shows an IP address in the in the Main pool (e.g. 192.168.1.126).
Is the Deco assigning IP addresses even in AP mode? It seems odd that the Deco app isn't pulling the IPs from the router in AP mode.
Thanks.
